FOUND: vintage ohio postcards

i have many.  many.  many postcards.  but i thought i would share my favorites at the moment.
not such a bad shopping fetish when the items usually cost less than two dollars!
my obsession with postcards started when i was 15.  i was working on the dishcrew at a summer camp.  my dad sent me a postcard of this i love lucy episode, and he labeled lucy and ethel me and my dishcrew friend cara.  ever since then he and i have been seeking out the weirdest, coolest, most random postcards we can find and sending them to each other.  every time i stumble upon postcards for sale, i buy a few to add to my stockpile.  i should scan in some of the best ones that he's sent me over the years... coming soon.  in the meantime, check out some of my favorites below found at antique markets.
The factories of B.F. Goodrich Co., Akron, Ohio.  This one's close to my heart since I've driven past it many times.  I love that this one is set at nighttime with the lights coming through the windows.  And if you look at the sidewalk on the bottom right you can see the workers walking up for the night shift.

GOVERNOR'S MANSION, COLUMBUS, OHIO.  my friend lives right near here and it looks pretty much the same as it is shown here.

BLACKLICK WOODS METROPOLITAN PARK.  I thought about adjusting the colors on this one, but the actual postcard really looks this saturated and I think I love it so I left it as is.  Does anyone know if this park is still here?
Columbus Ohio.   State Capitol.  I think the handwritten part on the bottom says 'To Heidie From Uncle Luke.  I love to find postcards that have been written on.

Fairyland,  Ohio Caverns,  West Liberty,  Ohio.  Who doesn't want to visit a place that is officially named Fairyland? I love that someone took the time to paint this.  I have a few of these ones and the ice stalactites look pretty blobby, but they're charming nonetheless.

FOUND: people in the rain

on this rainy thanksgiving day, i would be remiss to not mention the things for which i am grateful.  i am thankful for my wonderful and supportive family.  i am thankful for my amazing friends and the fates which brought each one of them into my life.  i am thankful for all of the opportunities i have been afforded in this life and for the roof over my head.  i am thankful for the sights and sounds that this world has to offer.
